Booking limits
Your schedule says when you work. Booking limits cut that down to the times a guest is actually offered. They live on each event type, so two event types can share one schedule and still offer different times.
Where to find them
- Open Settings → Event Types and pick an event type.
- Go to the Availability section. The six settings below sit under the schedule picker.
- Press Save. New limits apply to times guests have not booked yet. Bookings you already have keep their times.
The six settings
- Minimum notice — how far ahead a guest must book. Times closer than this are not offered. Default 4 hours.
- Booking window — how far into the future guests can book. Default 30 days. The booking page never pages past 12 months ahead, whatever you set here.
- Time slots — how often a booking may start. Default 30 minutes, so the page offers 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, and so on. This is the start time interval, not the length of the meeting.
- Buffer before — quiet time you keep in front of every booking. Default none.
- Buffer after — quiet time you keep behind every booking. Default none.
- Check calendar conflicts — hide times that clash with your connected calendar. Off unless you turn it on.
Buffers do two jobs. They keep the time around your own bookings free, and they widen the block a calendar clash makes. A 15 minute buffer before means an event on your calendar also blocks the 15 minutes in front of it.
Check calendar conflicts
With this on, CallSlot asks your calendar what you are busy with and drops those times from the booking page.
- You need a connected Google Calendar, with at least one calendar switched on for conflict checks. Nothing is switched on for you.
- If Google cannot be reached, the time stays on offer. An outage shows too many times, never too few.
- A second check runs when the guest presses confirm. A clash that appeared in the last minute is caught there, and the guest is told that time is no longer available and asked to pick another.
Cancel and reschedule rules
The Booking policies section of the same event type says what a guest may do after they have booked. It is free on every plan.
- Guests can cancel — turn it off and guests see a note asking them to contact you instead.
- Guests can reschedule — the same switch for moving a booking.
- Minimum notice to cancel and Minimum notice to reschedule — how long before the start time the guest loses the option. Zero means right up to the start.
These rules apply to bookings that already exist, not only to new ones. They never stop you canceling or moving a booking yourself.
Set a notice longer than the booking window and the form warns you. It is allowed, and it is a fair way to say never, but it is rarely what you meant to type.
Once a meeting has started the guest can no longer cancel it. They can still reschedule it, because moving a call you missed is a real thing to want.
Why no times appear
An empty booking page has a short list of causes. Work down it in order.
- The booking page is not published. Turn on Published and give it a moment to build its times.
- The event type is not on this booking page. Add it under Event types in the page settings. See Booking pages.
- No schedule is attached, or the schedule has no hours. See Availability.
- A date override closes the day you are looking at.
- Minimum notice is longer than the days you can see. Every near time is ruled out.
- The booking window is too short, so notice and window leave no days between them.
- Buffers plus the meeting length are wider than your open hours, or the slot interval never lands inside them.
- Calendar conflict checking is on and your calendar is full. Turn the switch off for a moment to see whether that is the cause.
- The schedule has the wrong time zone, so your hours land at night for the guest.
