Google Calendar
Connect Google Calendar to hide your busy times and write bookings back to your calendar.
Connect your calendar
- Open Settings → Connections and connect Google Calendar.
- Google asks you to allow three things: read your calendars, create and change calendar events, and see your name and email address.
- Switch on each calendar CallSlot should read. These switches only pick the calendars. They do not hide anything on their own.
- Open Settings → Event Types and turn on Check calendar conflicts for every event type that should hide your busy times. It is off by default.
- Zoom also lives on Connections. See the Zoom integration guide.
Hide your busy times
Two switches work together. On Connections you pick which calendars are read. On each event type, Check calendar conflicts decides whether those calendars hide slots. Turn both on, or guests still see times you are busy.
- The check reads free/busy only: the times you are busy, never the titles. The Calendar page inside CallSlot is the one place that reads titles, so you can see your week.
- Buffers widen the block. A busy event plus a 15 minute buffer hides 15 more minutes on each side you asked for.
- CallSlot checks again when the guest presses book. If the time went in the meantime, the guest is told that time is no longer available and picks another.
- If Google is slow or the check fails, your weekly hours still apply — CallSlot leaves the time on offer rather than hiding the day.
What lands on your calendar
- Every booking is written to Google as soon as one calendar is switched on. Bookings land on your first switched-on calendar.
- Google never emails your guests about these events. Every confirmation, reminder and cancellation comes from CallSlot.
- A reschedule moves the same event and keeps its Google Meet link. A cancellation deletes the event.
- Switch every calendar off and nothing is written any more. Bookings still work.
Google Meet
Google Meet is a location option on an event type, in Settings → Event Types. It needs a Google Calendar connection. Each booking gets its own link, made on the calendar event.
The link is made just after the booking, so the guest can first see Joining details will follow. It is replaced by the real link once Google answers.
Keep it working
- Added or removed a calendar in Google? Press the refresh button on the connection to read the list again.
- If a write keeps failing, you get one email: A booking did not reach your calendar. The fix is to reconnect Google on Settings → Connections. The booking itself is safe.
Disconnect
Disconnecting on Settings → Connections removes our access straight away. Events already on your calendar stay.
This does not remove the grant at Google. To do that too, open your Google Account, go to Security → Third-party access, find CallSlot and remove it.
